As a summer intern, it is my responsibility to work alongside the Office for Technology Transfer in screening and marketing of new NASA technologies for possible commercial applications. This involves interviewing inventors and contacting potential licensees. In order to spread the word, I have also assisted in conducting a mass media campaign regarding the availability of NASA's software catalog and patent portfolio.I am also working in conjunction with the ECLSS lab on testing a product which may have a large potential for technology transfer.

My time as a guide on the Ocoee River gave me experience with pressure situations, as there were many dangerous experiences in which I was responsible. I also gained experience with taking in large amounts of information and quickly making decisions. My responsibilities included training customers in my raft, navigating the boat down the river in a safe and timely manner, whitewater rescue, first aid, calling commands, communicating with the trip leader, loading/unloading boats, and entertaining customers. Failure was a big part of this experience. Each day brought vastly different situations, meaning my ability to adapt and refine my skills by examining my previous shortcomings was essential.

As a Marketing Ambassador, my responsibility was to travel to convenience stores and analyze Pepsi's point of sale (POS). Based upon the standards established by Pepsi, I would then document any inconsistencies I saw and address them if I had the capability. Later I would take this information, report it to my supervisor, and communicate any concerns I had with the drivers responsible for the respective store.
