My primary research interests include the use of epidemiological methods to advance the understanding of and identify modifiable social and environmental factors that impact breast cancer screening and breast cancer outcomes. I am particularly interested in exploring how the disciplines of epidemiology, health services research, and sociology can work together to address research questions in disparities in health services research. My graduate research uses a population-based data source to identify factors such insurance status that are important to address disparities in follow-up care after a positive screening mammogram. My academic and professional research experience demonstrates my ability to successfully work with an interdisciplinary team not only in the fields of cancer outcomes research, but also women’s and community health promotion, and quality of life and quality improvement in hospice.
