Our mission at VIBES is to bring test-based models to industry. Derived from measurements, with our in-house developed methods, engineers may use these test-based models to improve their simulations in an early product development stage. On the one hand we use these models to derive the excitation loads generated by Engines, motors etc. as, so-called, Blocked Forces. They form the input in our hybrid simulations. On the other hand, we use these test-based models as a cost-effective alternative of product parts that are too difficult to model with FEM (i.e. parts like vehicle body FRF up to driver’s ears, but also steering gears that examine high damping characteristics). We’ve developed and proven the methods during our early academic carriers and with VIBES developed the software needed for industry to successfully (and time efficiently) apply these techniques.
