About Diego Del Blanco Orobitg

Nowadays I'm a Software Architect at Unicon, Inc where I participate in very different projects involving several types of educational software, IMS standards, integrations, Java backend, Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, AWS, and GCP technologies.I'm teaching at ASU several courses. Since 2001 I have been working in the world of e-learning. I started as a software developer but I’ve been assuming other advisory duties (always continuing with developments), managing a team of content design, participating in the selection process of the Sakai Virtual Campus at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and the subsequent process of implementation, maintenance and development tasks combining this work with support to teachers in pedagogical issues.From 2008 to 2013 I was the head of the e-learning area of a company called Setival whose trademark is Samoo (www.samoo.es). Among other things, I designed the e-learning solutions we offered to our customers based on open-source software (Mainly Sakai). I also directed and worked on R&D projects related to e-learning on mobile devices and digital television.I've been the Development Manager at Asahi NET International. I coordinated the development department in the company, designed and managed the new services and products, organized the support and sales department, and I was the LATAM and Spain representative.I participated in the Tutordemia Project where we developed a platform to offer high-quality training at good prices giving the teacher the control to create and manage the courses with our aid and a pedagogical model to assure the quality.At this moment I work as a Software Architect at Unicon. I like to think that I'm one of those people that you can use in any project or for any task because I learn quickly about any new framework, technology, or business needs. I consider myself a problem solver. I have experience in a lot of different roles so I can empathize and understand needs and priorities from any role and level, which allows me to be very good at designing broad solutions and managing teams.
