Senior executive for a city-wide economic development company located in one of the country’s poorest cities. Developed and implemented organizational strategy, which resulted in 70% average year-on-year revenue growth for five years and substantial increases in Camden’s market-growth metrics. Managed a diverse portfolio of company initiatives, including: real estate investment/development, infrastructure, business attraction and retention, neighborhood planning, special improvement district, and policy development. Provided leadership for thirteen staff and twenty contract employees, with an annual operating budget of approximately $10 million and total annual project value in excess of $30 million. Worked in close partnership with a Board of Directors consisting of thirty CEOs and senior leaders from the region’s most prominent public, private and community-based organizations. Selected organizational accomplishments include:• Implemented strategy that grew company from one to 30 employees and grew revenues from $700,000 to approximately $10 million in six years • Assembled land, entitlements, public incentives and led recruitment effort that resulted in Philadelphia 76ers relocation of practice facility and corporate headquarters to Camden • Purchased and re-positioned 575,000 s.f. office/manufacturing campus, creating more than $20 million in new asset value• Led development of 20,000 s.f. small-business accelerator that is now home to more than a dozen companies• Funded and executed more than $30 million in public infrastructure projects • Managed the funding and construction of improvements on more than 500 properties through façade and home-improvement programs that became a statewide model• Created collaborative employer-assisted housing incentive program across five anchor institutions and three local banks
