As a senior leader on the team, I participated in the management of over $100 million in developments consisting of approximately 600 housing units, including supportive, affordable, and workforce housing. I coordinated the Troubled Buildings Initiative II, a community development and affordable housing CDBG program, directing $2.5 million in annual redevelopment investments. My duties included managing program staff in the real estate development department to ensure quarterly and annual goals were met. Activities were primarily carrying out court-ordered receivership activities to stabilize vacant and abandoned buildings, collaborating with housing attorneys, the police department, and construction contractors, resulting in the rehabilitation and repair of over 130 units each year. I advocated for tenants affected by absentee owners and slumlords, and provided emergency repairs and relocation assistance. Additionally, I assisted with the development and sale of affordable homeownership properties through programs such as the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, the Micro Market Recovery Program, and New Homes for Chicago; and I marketed and sold properties as a licensed real estate broker, closing over $1.5 million in sales annually.
