Worked on an interdisciplinary engineering AggiE_Challenge team project to improve college students' access to mental health services.Reviewed existing literature to see what research had been done on the subject of college student mental health, and mental health phone apps in general.Interviewed students about their mental health status and what design criteria they would look for in a mobile phone application to assist with improving their mental health. Analyzed 70+ interviews with students and a focus group of university administrators using MAXQDA qualitative coding software, determined focus codes, and found themes in the responses.Worked on a team to find Functional Information Requirements (FIR) and from there determined design requirements for features on the final app based on interview analysis.Assisted in the writing of a final paper to submit to an academic journal for publication.

Research Experience for Undergraduates offered for students studying biomaterials. The online program consisted of several components including: Research Skills Workshops, Faculty Talks, Industry and Graduate School Presentations, and Community Building. Presentations that stood out were on bioethics in research, how to get published in a scientific journal, and comparing going to graduate school vs industry after graduation.

Program offered to engineering students to reproduce internship experience due to loss of offers caused by COVID-19. Gained experience learning about the corporate world, working in teams, and presenting a product with market research and a plan to produce it.Program occurred in 2 stages:-May-June: Attended training sessions led by Professors of Practice on topics related to business and the corporate environment. Also attended company presentations in a variety of industries. Learned about corporate culture, basic company financials, ethics, and leadership skills among other things.-July-August: Work on a multidisciplinary team of other undergraduates with a mentor from Commissioning Agents, Inc. (CAI) and a Professor of Practice to design a device that can measure vital signs from home and communicate it to a doctor for monitoring so people can leave the hospital sooner and recover safely from their homes. Presented that device and our plan to manufacture and sell it to a panel of Professors of Practice acting as investors at the conclusion of the program.
