Comprehensive integration projects between MES and ERP, Inventory Control systems, Labor Data Collection systems, etc. Back in the olden days, before pagers, before cellphones, before email, the internet all that stuff we think is so cool now. I installed DNC systems in little and big companies all across the United States. DNC is Distributed Numerical Control and it primarily involved replacing Numerical Control machines program input device from a paper tape to a rudimentary network. The initial system I implemented ran on a 286 processor running DOS.Subsequently we began implementing VAX or VMS based systems. Utilizing terminal servers for data transfer. Not so many years later our company released a far more dynamic database driven product on IBM's AIX platform. This system was the entry into Manufacturing Execution for Intercim and offered such features as machine monitoring. Our next technology change came in the late '90s. We moved to a client/server achitecture using Windows products. This is the point where BizTalk and AIS was introduced as a tool for integrating manufacturing systems. The current Intercim software offering, Velocity or Pertinence Suite, is web based and highly flexible. It is some really good software made by some really good people. You can always ask to have someone other than myself attend to your implementation if you so wish.
