Senior marine scientist with international experience in aquaculture and fisheries spanning different countries in South and North America, and Asia. My work focus on interdisciplinary topics bridging natural and social sciences, including aquaculture links with environmental sustainability, future food systems, marine policy, coastal community management, and gender leadership. Extensive professional experience as consultant, reviewer, and researcher at different sectors, including the U.S. government (NOAA), international NGOs, and academia. Lead of the Ecosystem Governance Group within the IUCN Commission on Environmental Management (CEM), as volunteer. I am an experienced project manager (as a PI), and first author of peer-reviewed publications in ocean sciences. I provide proactive project leadership with high organizational skills in different tasks, such as securing and managing grants, recruiting and supervision of technical personnel, collaboration with stakeholders, and public outreach as conference/forum speaker, with extensive experience in 'translation' of scientific information for farmers, general public.
