I have worked in the water sector for more than 25 years. I started with rural water supply and sanitation and over the course of my career gained experience in urban water supply and sanitation. My professional expertise includes institutional and utility reforms (design and implementation) and regulatory reforms, urban water and sanitation utility operations, commercialization of the urban water sector, engagement of the private sector in service delivery, governance and accountability including policy development and strategic guidance. Over the last two years I have had deep experience in urban sanitation particularly related to city wide inclusive sanitation.In the urban water and sanitation sector my experience includes defining private sector roles, regulatory framework, and supporting government agencies develop commercial viability approaches for state-owned water utilities. In some cases this has involved designing and implementing utility reform programmes.
