I managed a 4-person procurement team in the areas of plastic resins, roll stock, paper & printing, electronic components, and MRO. Developed new suppliers in the area of label printing, post consumer recycled PET for agriculture customers, and Asian imports of components for digital storage customer.In 2009, I traveled to China for 2 weeks visiting various manufacturers of electronic components and laminated retail cartons with our Asian sourcing partner firm.I also managed the day to day operations of the PET extrusion department including resin supply, scheduling and distribution of roll stock to two remote plants.After the sale of Packaging Plus to Peninsula Packaging and the subsequent ceasing of operations of Packaging Plus, I was retained by Peninsula to manage two plastic sheet extrusion lines until they were relocated to other Peninsula facilities.

Reid Plastics is a blow molding/injection molding company that had one location in Monrovia, CA when I started with the company. Over the next 16 years we grew to 25 plants in the US, Canada, and Mexico through plant start-ups and acquisition of other multi-plant companies. In 1999, the equity firm that owned Reid Plastics merged it with another of their holdings and shut down the California based corporate offices of Reid. Today, the company is known as Consolidated Container Corporation and is one of the nation's largest blow molding companies.Reid's customers were in the bottled water, dairy, juice, automotive, cosmetic and household industries.While at Reid I managed the purchasing of the major raw materials (plastic resins) and packaging supplies - over $100,000,000 annually. I also purchased, implemented and maintained the ERP system in 1988 that carried the company through the growth and acquisition years. In 1998-99 I was part of the team that implemented the JD Edwards ERP system.I also managed several resin brokerage programs that were profitable for the company and supervised various direct reports over the years.
