Architected, led design, and coded an automated testing framework in Go (Golang) using REST API for a new data storage software product taking it from inception to initial release. Built everything from the ground up, growing my team from 4 to 12 direct reports. I created and managed the testing environment using VMware, design environment using Github, and the CI Pipeline using Jenkins. I helped influence product direction as it matured by working cross-functionally with different stakeholders and giving input into technical decisions. I also led meetings with Agile methodologies like Bug Triage, Daily Standup, and Sprint Planning.

Designed distributed test environment in AWS using Ansible and functional test code in Go (Golang) to release a marketable prototype for a distributed storage backup product. I demoed the product using this test code and presented the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concept to executives realizing the need to shift the company's hardware management this direction. For a different product I reduced time to find bugs by 30% by implementing an ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack designed to allow easy visual analysis of complex logs. Wrote Ansible to easily deploy the ELK stack on any computer so testers and developers could easily run it when testing/debugging.

Reduced customer bug finds by 90% by building complex test system in Go (Golang) using distributed applications, concurrent processes, and a gRPC communication pipeline built with Protobufs. Designed a SQL database schema with MySQL and wrote SQL Go (Golang) code to track statistics for this test system. Implemented and documented different performance testing for several storage product upgrades. This included building a cross platform test server array for a NAS storage device which proved increased performance of new hardware allowing sales to enterprise customers. Also scoped new hardware for products by analyzing data from customer log-sets to determine requirements and ensure systems worked as desired.

Improved reliability and added new features to Manufacturing verification software in Perl. Investigated difficult problems in both RMA and New Build in Manufacturing and determined solutions. Wrote Engineering Change documents detailing the investigation, solution, and new manufacturing processes. Responded and resolved immediate issues on the Manufacturing line including both software and hardware issues, troubleshooting to determine root cause and implementing a fix.

On the side I created a configuration wizard for the cameras used in Manufacturing with Java. Primarily I worked on-site and supported a large customer by troubleshooting and fixing any issues with their tape library hardware/software, working with both Engineering and Support on resolution. I also managed communications and led weekly status meetings with the customer.
