I'm a passionate technologist and an Entrepreneur. I have been cutting code since I was 10 but have always had a penchant for business and commercialisation.For most of my career I've been either a founder or worked in the leadership team of startups. I understand the highs and lows of building businesses and the tech and product teams that support them.My current venture, CipherStash is the culmination of many years leading dev teams and the ever increasing need to manage customer data securely. Based on recent advances in searchable encryption technology, CipherStash is a new data-storage platform that keeps data encrypted at all times while still providing the search capability to which developers have become accustomed.I'm also a fervent believer in the need for representation in tech. Diverse teams tend to significantly outperform other teams and it is also important that the people building technology represent those who use it. As the Executive Producer for Debugging Diversity, I hope to champion the change needed in tech to diversify the workforce and to make tech accessible to everyone.

I partnered with Kieren Wuest at Kwuest Pictures and together we are now producing a whole series of exciting content including several short episodes called "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Coders" and a feature length documentary about women in Technology called "Debugging Diversity".

Chief Course InstructorCoder Factory Apr 2015 - Jun 2015Eveleigh, Nsw, AuI joined CoderFactory to run the first of their "FastTrack" full-time intensive courses. I both designed and delivered the course which was geared towards training students who had little to no experience to become hireable engineers.The course started with Ruby basics and introduced HTML/CSS and JavaScript, Databases and SQL, version control with Git and eventually moved to full stack development with Ruby on Rails. There was also a strong emphasis on agile methodologies. The students performed daily retrospectives and demos which was used to feed back into the teachings for the subsequent days. A technique I developed and called Sprint Based Learning. -

My business partner, Nathan Hockley and I realised that with a massive increase in demand for talented software coders but with a large scale market shortage, companies need to radically rethink their approach to attracting and selecting talent.In July of 2013 we ran an Australia wide competition called the Codehire Cup which attracted over 700 coders and some top-tier corporate sponsors.We are currently refining our business model and working towards a Minimal Viable Product.
