My professional aim is to enrich lives through collaboration.As a researcher with the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), I am looking at using semantic web technologies to enable better collaboration across engineering disciplines. As a practicing systems engineer, I worked in the communications industry, collaborating with project managers, sales, technicians, service, and customers to design and implement two-way radio systems, primarily for public safety customers.As a leader, I’ve had the opportunity to mentor college students working as co-ops on our engineering team, onboard an experienced engineer new to our company, and lead volunteer teams to provide english learning opportunities overseas.As a musician, I work as a dance accompanist for ballet classes at Belhaven University, collaborating in real time with dancers and ballet instructors to create opportunities for dancers to develop technique and produce art.Whether it’s in research, engineering, leadership, or even the ballet studio, my passion is consistent - to enrich people’s lives through collaboration.
