The company that I am currently working for produces corporate publications. The magazines I design are for the following clients: Vauxhall, DHL, Macmillian, Network Rail, Eurostar, Islington Council, Virgin,Criminal Justice System and UKTI.I have redesigned many of the existing magazines and also helped win new publications for the company. Along with giving them new formats and design, ive also created interactive pdfs from these new layouts to push the design into the current market.Included in my day to day activities are liaising with clients on a daily basis, both over the phone or with editorial meetings to talk through designs and also through next issue flat plans. Also commissioning photoshoots and illustrators when needed, and keeping an eye on the budgets for each issue. I also over see freelance staff and have managed a few Junior designers.I also create flash based interactive ezines for a number of clients and also iPad versions of magazines.Other duties are to go to pitches and create designs/documentation for these.Recently I won three design awards at the IoIC Awards. These were for Class win for best redesign, for CJSNOW which is a publication for the Criminal Justice System, an award of excellence of an internal publication for Aspects (Network Rail) and the third an award of excellence for a charity publication for Macmillan Cancertalk.
