The Director of Communications is a professional minister who is entrusted by the Bishop with responsibility for public relations, interactions with news media, developing public and internal communications, and publishing the Diocesan newspaper, the Idaho Catholic Register, to unify, inform, inspire and educate Idaho Catholics. The Director serves as editor of the official diocesan newspaper and shapes the plan for delivering the Bishop’s message to the Diocese.The Director of Communications directs the staff of the Office of Communications in the day to day communications and public relations tasks of the Diocese of Boise.

I am an ordained deacon for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, serving at Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Pocatello, Idaho. I have an MA in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, New Orleans and a Doctorate in Ministry (D.Min) from Mount Angel Abbey & Seminary in Mount Angel, Oregon. Prior to ordination in 2011, I had the privilege of serving as a lay Pastoral Associate with Holy Spirit Catholic Community from 2000 to 2006.

Scott & Marcy Pearhill sold the Home Hotel in March of 2020. It has been fun and rewarding to see the glamour come back to this historic hot springs lodging. We will miss the wonderful hotel team and the many guests who shared their vacations with us. The Home Hotel celebrated 100 years of hot springs and hospitality in 2018!

Served as a Pastoral Associate for Holy Spirit Catholic Community from 2000 to 2006 helping three separate parishes merge as well helping to meet the day to day needs of the community. In addition to the large scale community effort to bring the three parishes together, Scott helped to integrate the three administrative offices after the merger.

Store manager of the Pocatello branch of Lamont's Apparel, a clothing retail chain focusing on family apparel with 40 doors in the Rocky Mountain west and Alaska. The franchise was bought by Gottschalks in 1999 and Scott was hired by the new owners to be the store manager in Pocatello for the re-branded Gottschalks chain. After a successful year, helping the new corporation get up and running in Pocatello, Scott was hired away to help administrate three Catholic parishes in Pocatello that needed to merge.

Department manager for Lamont's Apparel in Pocatello for six years, during which time Scott learned the difficult art of corporate clothing retail! He earned many awards for sales in Mens, Childrens and Home Furnishings departments, as well as for store management and credit promotion.

Taught English 101 & 102 at the University of Idaho while working on a graduate degree in English Literature.
