St Gabriel The Archangel Parish, Louisville, Ky

Stephen currently serves as the sole deacon at the largest parish in the Archdiocese of Louisville, St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, which currently has a membership of over 2,200 families. In addition to weekly liturgical and monthly preaching duties at the parish, he is also responsible for baptismal and marriage preparation as well as catechetical and theological instruction for adults seeking initiation into the Church. He also serves as the Spiritual Advisor for his local conference of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, a worldwide organization for outreach and assistance to the poor and needy. At the Archdiocesan level, he currently serves as the Chairman of the Deacon Council to Archbishop Kurtz as well as co-chaplain for the local COURAGE ministry outreach program.

The Compassion Fund is Signature HealthCARE’s 501-C3 not-for-profit entity which provides needed financial assistance for Signature’s employees, family and community members. Since its inception in 2009, the Compassion Fund has provided over 1.2 million dollars in assistance for more than 1,000 individuals and families in need.As Director, Stephen both created and manages the processes for the many applications for assistance that come to the Fund as well as manages the reporting procedures for the Fund regarding the great help it provides for those in need.
