C# programmer for gate systems and OCR/video. Programmer for gate automation systems used by shipping ports around the world. Duties included maintaining an OCR/image processing and video camera control application written in C# and using that application with several other applications. Applications were multi-threaded and used .Net remoting for monitoring applications and XML for transferring data between applications. Wrote and optimized SQL queries to run against both SQL Server and Oracle databases. Designed and developed several applications in C# such as an application that interfaces with truck scales using TCP and several Windows services that perform file and database maintenance for the company’s suite of applications. These applications used a local OracleLite database which was synchronized with the main Oracle database on the server using an encrypted and compressed radio over IP connection. The applications were a mixture of VB6 and C#.Net.Wrote conversion scripts to add or modify tables and to clean data when a major new release of the applications was required.Wrote Windows Services in both VB6 and C#.Net to monitor directories for 3rd party export files which were then parsed and imported into an Oracle database.Led and mentored teams of junior programmers on various projects with a team size of two to five programmers.Led in-house training sessions on C#.NetWrote dozens of stored procedures and triggers using PL/SQL in Oracle to support the records management and report writing applications.Met with customers and potential customers to gather requirements and write functional requirements. Continued with that process to write Statements of Work, technical specifications and design documents that were implemented as development projects.
