HFC Field Technician- NBN/Telstra HFC Network Working In conjunction with NBN to find and rectify Network Incidents on a 24/7 on call basis.other day to day duties include:• Hauling cables both underground and for aerial projects• Install, splice and commission passive HFC devices & HFC Trunks• Install, maintain and test MDU (Multi Dwelling units), RF, AC, DC faults• Work at heights and in various challenging field environments• Troubleshoot basic optical issues, Routine Optical nodes, RF Amplifier and End of Line testing/balancing• Ability to use HFC plant test equipment – including Signal level meters, volt/current meters, spectrum analysers, leakage testing meters, CPD testing meters, Optical meters & TDRs• Interpret records of daily work logs and network design maps• Repair of customer faults including Foxtel/Cable internet; • Installation of network devices, testing, and commissioning. Including: Network amplifiers, MDU amplifiers, Customer taps etc.; • Radio Frequency Leakage testing and rectification; • Extensive pit and pipe and cable hauling experience; • Locating and rectifying noise faults within the network; • Marking up network plans for submission to contractors; • Mentoring/Training new staff • Identifying voltage faults within the network
