A Senior Lecturer who believes passionately in developing and delivering high quality impact driven student learning. Learning does not simply reside in the realms of facts, figures and quotations, nor in the one-way broadcasting of information. We have all experienced those monologue classes / lectures which seemed, at the time, as though the very fabric of time and space had careered to a halt, and we would be stuck in that room forever.Learning is about self-discovery. Discovering who we are, who we want to become and what we need to become that person. To understand not just the world, but ourselves and our place in it. Through interactive student-lead learning, employability skills run parallel with academic understanding while building self-confidence and developing strong communication skills.The term ‘student’ has been used, that was wrong. Although correct, student is not a very pro-active title. In class, learners are treated exactly who they are, and what they are is obvious. They are… Aspiring Professionals. Being a professional does not happen on the first day of term, handing in the last assignment, attending graduation day or the first day in a new job. It starts in one’s head with a belief, an idea, an aspiration, and the willingness to challenge yourself by building consistency. For the biggest battles anyone will ever have are with themselves.Education is a wonderful journey, and one in which I walk proudly alongside my aspiring professionals. To see them at their graduation day makes the hard work they put into their studies absolutely worth it.
