• Providing technical, operational and process engineering support to the utilities operations teams to ensure key operational assets are operated in an optimised manner.• Providing guidance to the maintenance teams to assist with turnarounds, rectification of availability, efficiency and reliability issues.• Owning and managing key operational contracts such as chemical dosing and legionella control contracts.• Providing technical project support from initial design to plant commissioning. • Carrying out new equipment and plant commissioning and delivering training to the operations teams.• Carry out root cause analysis of problems detracting from efficiency, reliability or availability. • Identify and implement improvement strategies and propose operational improvements.

• Implementing plant improvement and upgrade projects. Ensuring all disciplines are aligned and making sure work is completed on time to a high specification.• Monitoring and reporting on plant performance.• Taking the Lead commissioning new plant equipment.• Carrying out Operator training/ validating operators.• Producing operating procedures from O&M manuals.• Carrying out plant design calculations for sizing of new equipment/ pipelines/ valves.

Working in a fast paced control room. Managing steam raising assets including a biomass fluidised bed boiler, gas turbines with associated heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and package boilers.

SembCorp Utilities UK• Working in the Main Power Station as a Lead turbine operator on a 12 hour continuous shift pattern. • Commissioning, decommissioning, isolating and de-isolating plant equipment within strict time limits and following safe working procedures.• Operation of plant includes:1. Gas turbines with associated heat recovery steam generator (HRSG)2. Balance of plant (including feed water systems)3. Monitoring auxiliary equipment (Such as Vacuum deaerators, Pressure deaerators, Pumps, Cooling towers etc.)4. Steam turbines, both fully condensing and pass out turbines.• Competent operation of Delta V and Metso control systems, trending and fault finding.• Recording, monitoring and entering any anomalies into a computerised defect system.• Carrying out trip and alarm testing on various equipment, safety activities. • Permit issuing and accepting.
