Senior Authorised Person (SAP), authorised to High and low Voltage, and mechanical under FCC Environment Safety Rules. Receiving work requests, identify the safety document required, and if necessary, identify isolations and apply isolations, then issue safety document. Covering other positions, such as Shift manager and Panel operator. High Volt operational and safety switching, part of a common outage as an SAP. Supporting and improving team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices. Ensuring quality assurance of all work scopes are maintained, and all work is performed in accordance with company policies and the Health and Safety at work act.Supporting in all elements of health, safety, security and environmental aspect for the organisation.Excellent communication skills at all levels while remaining dedicated to ensuring and understanding the company requirements and procedures. Implementing and supporting effective working practices and systems as required to continuously improve work scope delivery. Dealing efficiently and on own initiative with a high-volume workload.

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of, energy from waste (EFW) plant within a central control room and out in the field on a 24-hour shift rotation. Plant and equipment process changes to optimise conditions within Health and Safety and Environmental compliance. Process and equipment fault diagnosis and rectification.Carrying out routine testing of plant equipment and safety shutdown systems. Maintaining shift log with plant and process changes, also carry out shift handover ensuring effective changeover to oncoming shift. Assisting with all shutdown activities within the EFW plant ensuring plant downtime is minimized.Carrying out front line maintenance to ensure plant availability is maintained. Responding promptly and effectively to changing circumstances, planning for contingencies and managing conflicting priorities.

Monitoring plant and equipment; this involves some process fault diagnosis and rectification. Complying with the safe system of work. Assisting the Process Technician in the operation of the waste incinerator plant within Environmental compliance (IPPC agreement) always. Carrying out routine testing of plant equipment and safety shutdown systems and supervising the loading and unloading of ash and bulk consumable lorries; ensure that the process complies with FCC environment strict environmental procedures. Updating the shift log with plant and process changes, also carrying out shift handover to ensure effective changeover to oncoming shift. Assisting with all shutdown activities within the plant, ensuring plant downtime is minimised, Carrying out front-line maintenance to ensure plant availability is maintained. Assisting with ISO 14001 and IOS 9001. FCC environment Safety Representative; carrying because chats with employees and contractors; safety audits; monthly safety meetings; and advice/write near miss reports. Completing the following training: Demag Crane Operator trained, First Aid at work trained, working at heights trained, Confined space trained, FCC Environment Safety Representative, and Confined space rescue.

Whilst working towards my Master’s Degree, I worked alongside Bangor University’s Environmental Manager for two months (September – October 2014) assisting him in preparing for an ISO 14001 audit. This provided me with invaluable experience in the requirements associated with the implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System in a large organisation, in particular in the management of energy water and waste.
