Dean Cooper is a sought-after keynote speaker and panel member providing insightful commentary for issues such as domestic and family violence, masculinity, and men’s mental health. Currently, Dean consults for workplaces, providing specialist advice in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and delivers gender-based violence and respectful workplaces training across Australia. Dean also serves as a board member for the Outback Mind Foundation which provides mental health support for men in regional communities.Dean is considered an expert in the field of domestic and family violence and facilitates training across Australia to staff from police, corrections, and probation and parole. Following a lengthy career in corrections interviewing and assessing high risk perpetrators he is recognised as a leading expert in engaging men who use violence in their relationships. Dean is a long-term facilitator of men’s behaviour change programs and currently provides training and practice supervision for facilitators.Currently, Dean’s passion is to facilitate workshops within workplaces to empower bystanders to proactively prevent harmful behaviours such as racism, discrimination, and sexual harassment. Dean’s ability to positively impact workplaces was recognised by Griffith University who appointed him as Learning and Development Manager of the MATE Bystander Program. In 2023, Dean lead and collaborated with the Australian Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance and developed a program tailored for new entrants to the mining and resources sector. This initiative aimed to enhance social awareness and address industry issues such as bullying, racism, and harassment.
