About Donald Moss
Dr. Moss is the Education Chair of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. He is also the ethics chair and international certification chair for the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. He has served as president of Division 30 (hypnosis) of the American Psychological Association, president of the Sociaty for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, and president of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB). He is also a member of the International, Interdisciplinary, and Interreligious Research Group on ‘Consciousness Studies,’ at the Pontifical Academy, “Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum,” Rome, Italy. He had a book released in 2018 with co-author Angele McGrady on Integrative Pathways: Navigating Chronic Illness with a Mind-Body-Spirit Approach (Springer), and a book released in 2020 with co-editor Fredric Shaffer on Physiological Recording Technology and Applications in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback (AAPB). He also has a book in preparation with co-editor Inna Khazan on Mindfulness, Compassion, and Biofeedback Practice (AAPB). Moss is co-editor of Foundations of Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback (AAPB, 2016), co-author of Pathways to Illness, Pathways to Health (Springer, 2013), and chief editor of Handbook of Mind-Body Medicine for Primary Care (Sage, 2003) and Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology (Greenwood, 1998).

For four and one half years, I have worked closely with James Gordon, Lisa Kelly, Dan Sterenchuk, and a wonderful faculty to build a master's degree program and three PhD specializations in mind-body medicine. Jeanne Achterberg contributed inspiration and guidance on early courses. We now have 119 degree students, 85 faculty, and a rich learning community. In 2014 we will add an additional MS Degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition (pending approval by WASC, our accrediting body).

CurrentThe Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis is an international organization of mental health and health professionals dedicated to the highest level of scientific inquiry and the conscientious application of hypnosis in the clinical setting. The 71st Annual Workshops and Scientific Session will take place on October 14-18, 2020 in Anaheim, CA. The theme of the event will be "Hypnosis to Enhance and Augment Treatment Outcomes."Donald Moss is also a Fellow and Past-President of the Society.

This multi-disciplinary outpatient center provided a wide range of psychological, social work, and behavioral medicine services in five West Michigan communities. The Clinic began within the integrative primary care and occupational medicine clinic of osteopathic physician Paul A. Haight, and later became autonomous. The Center provided biofeedback, neurofeedback, clinical hypnosis, trauma therapies, and a variety of other services, not previously available in the West Michigan area. The Center provided group based treatment programs for anxiety disorders, weight management, and pain management, in conjunction with area medical teams, nutritional counselors, and physical therapists. The Center provided up to 16 therapists in locations in Spring Lake, Grand Haven, Holland, Muskegon, and Allendale, Michigan, set a standard for quality in West Michigan, during its 30 years of community and clinical service.
