As a Landscape Architect at the University of British Columbia, I provide subject matter expertise on the planning, design, maintenance and operation of all landscapes on UBC’s Vancouver campus. I have served on several design juries and panels as well as been the author of articles related to campus planning and design.

I lead the design and revitalization of the University's Vancouver and Okanagan campuses by planning, designing and implementing landscape initiatives.Responsibilities:- Direct implementation of the landscape vision embodied in the University’s $46 million Public Realm Plan.- Direct and review the work of landscape architects and other consultants associated with campus capital building projects.- Provide leadership, counsel and oversight regarding technical, aesthetic, environmental, communication or policy matters associated with campus planning and design for the University’s three campuses.- Ensure continuity of the University’s commitment to design and planning excellence, and advise University leadership on how to accomplish and practice active, innovative stewardship of these campus environments.- Conduct work in partnership with many university and community colleagues.- Conceive, initiate and guide landscape architectural, campus and urban design and planning work focused on sustaining the unique qualities of each campus environment and its future use and development.- Engage in proactive design review and guidance on all major projects to help achieve the goals established by academic, athletic, administrative, residential or other end users, within the parameters of budget, schedule and policy.- Care about the human experience of the whole University environment, from its historic and contemporary buildings and open spaces, to its public art, paths and plantings.- Attend to the many details involved in shaping the functionality, sustainability, and internationally recognized visual beauty of the University at each of its campuses.
