After establishing full operations and maintenance coverage on the CCHP at Sky I was interested to get back into Energy from Waste and work in a larger plant again.Ardley ERF is Viridor's flagship site and continues to give the best performance results of their ERF fleet. I passed my SAP authorisation panel under the ERF safety Rules in 2015 and again in 2018 under the new Uniper Safety Rules with a refresher this year. This means I can generate/issue/cancel safety documents including the 'permit to work'. I have a positive outlook to health and safety with a 'can do' attitude.I work between the permit office, control room and running plant throughout the shift. Viridor promotes workplace observations/spot checks and reporting all incidents onto our VIMS online management system.I work with the Holistech works management system, using KKS identification to report defects and complete PPM works. Over the last 6 months I have lead a task to rename KKS assets to a description/duty which is relevant. This will help all in the long run and keep our safety documents accurate. Viridor has trained me in HV switching and the Operations Principles Course for plant design and theory. I am involved in KPI's, figures and spreadsheets cross relating to our DCS system. I have written specific operating procedures which others use as a reference for operational duties.

In October 2013 I was approached by Sky to be their CCHP Plant Manager. I managed the same 6.4MW 'VAS' plant as the one located at Heathrow Airport.Transferred from Clearpower initially on a secondment after managing the August 2013 summer shutdown. I interviewed and recruited 4 shift engineers which work a continental pattern for the plant. Site activity log books were generated, SOP's & EOP's, I wrote all the necessary Risk Assessment and Method Statements for every job.Passed a CHPQA Audit and a excessive asset verification task which had not been done before.I spent in excess of £250,000 bringing the plant up to the stage it is now- reliability is the best it has ever seen. We achieved a record breaking first 6 months for availability and with the new 'Hub' building coming online there was more demand to use the green energy which the site relies so heavily on. I left MITIE for a more stable position in a larger power plant.

Clearpower are an Irish based company specialising in Biomass Energy. I was their UK based Operation and Maintenance manager covering two larger CCHP plants, one on the BSkyB complex at Osterley and the Kings Yard Energy centre at the London Olympic site. Most of my time was spent at BSkyB site doing fuel ordering/maintenance/engineering out design floors from my engineering background.I managed the August 2013 shutdown, spending £150,000 adding new features to improve uptime. September and October 2013 saw the highest uptime ever recorded on the plants 2 year history. I physically done the monthly/6monthly maintenance on the Sky installation and provide support to the MITIE staff who run the plants day operations.

I was part of the Maintenance team at SELCHP, duties including emissions monitoring and calibrations. Fault finding on electrical motors, routine maintenance, scheduled maintenance, new installations and upgrades.

I joined the Operations team at SELCHP after completing my apprenticeship with E.ON I moved on from a closing Kingsnorth Power Station and came here to Deptford. On a shift rotation as an assistant unit operator I was responsible for all running plant on site. I particularly enjoyed breakdowns and having to make decisions quickly to save integrity of plant.

I started my Career in Engineering through E.ON at the Kingsnorth Power Station on the Hoo Peninsula. I completed my Instrumentation Apprenticeship 6 months early and spent a further year after this as a qualified Instrumentation Engineer.I have a HNC in Electrical Engineering with Control Options, this is certified by the University of Kent.Throughout the 3 months of Summer 2010, i studied at the E.ON Engineering Academy at the Ratcliffe Powerstation; Courses including; HV Switchgear, PLC/SCADA, Pressure Level and Flow, Temperature Measurement, HV Motors, LV MotorsI believe i have a great portfolio balance across powerstations that use different fuels, Coal, Gas and Oil.I have brief experience of commisioning at the New CCGT station at Grain, which included some installation work too.
