Dean's book UNBOUND: A True Story of War, Love, and Survival, chronicling the journey of the 30 women on Mao Zedong's Long March in 1934, is the basis of a feature story in Outside magazine and Outside China. Dean is a television producer and the chief story teller on two History Channel documentaries.
