- Acting as a key link between IT and Finance - Generating creative ideas to improve our finance systems and processes, or solve existing issues - Creating and maintaining test scripts for new developments across our systems - SAP environment upgrade testing - Disaster recovery and contingency planning - Regression testing of key systems, primarily SAP & SFDC - A key contributor in major finance projects, including large scale transformation projects - Preparing and upgrading process documentation - Designing and rolling out new or refresher training to all SAP users - First line of support for SAP and SFDC queries, providing expert advice to the business - Understanding and making sense of complex requirements from all levels of the business - Working closely with the development team to ensure requirements are clear and understood - Creation or monitoring of jobs in SAP, as well as interfaces to and from SAP and other systems - Clear communication with various teams at all levels, across Finance, IT, BI, Tax and many more, ensuring an open and transparent dialogue to avoid any uncertainty - Master data maintenance across all finance systems, including Cognos planning - Actioning audit queries, from simple requests through to complex E2E processes walk throughs - Usual month end accounting close processes, including posting, reporting and reconciling - Running the E2E transfer pricing process for the whole group of Sophos entities - Managing period maintenance for all SAP environments, in FI & MM - Creating custom reports via Report Painter within SAP, based on user requirements - Managing a JIRA queue, including prioritisation of tickets across all SAP modules - Look after SAP licensing and access for all users across all environments

After starting as an apprentice, I worked in various roles, covering Treasury, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger, with the most recent role being in the Product Costing team.The product costing role required analysing and making sense of huge data sets, and summarising them in a concise manner to management.
