Dean Minnock Email and Phone Number
CEO of Innovation Zed Ltd, leading market development, research, and integration of connected technology towards improving drug adherence and condition management. My advocacy of digital healthcare originates at the intersection between my training and expertise in human physiology (diabetes and molecular biology) and my developed knowledge of the medical technology industry.Awarded the Irish Research Council (IRC) Employment-Based PhD fellowship in 2016. As an IRC fellow, I joined Innovation Zed as a research physiologist at University College Dublin. At Innovation Zed, early projects included the insulin pen technology study, SBRI initiative, and connected health in diabetes, funded by the NHS UK, in some of the first clinical research for utilising combination products (CGM & insulin delivery devices) to improve patient outcomes. Industry Experience - I lead a multidisciplinary approach in business and scientific initiatives in commercial and research settings at Innovation Zed. My ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities has come from my 10+ years of working across commercial and research industries and is supported by my physiological understanding of disease and condition management. I am passionate about the applications and integration of medical devices (CGM, connected pens, pump and AID systems) as well as SaMD, to forge commercial opportunities and empower end users to manage their therapy with technology. Academia - Having completed my PhD studies at the University College Dublin (UCD) as a member of Prof. Giuseppe De Vito’s research group, my research focuses is on the convergence of integrative physiology and molecular medicine, examining physical interventions on metabolism and molecular regulation of skeletal muscle to reverse or regress diabetic complications. My research interests are the links between disease states and skeletal muscle health in diabetes, cancer, obesity and ageing medicine. My research was some of the initial research into the efficacy and importance of CGM use in the management of metabolic health conditions. As a member of the Physiological Society and European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), I am a member of the Exercise & Physical Activity Study Group and Study Group on the Genetics of Diabetes. I present his academic work globally, & and regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals, www.researchgate.net/profile/Dean_Minnock

Phd FellowUniversity College Dublin Oct 2016 - Oct 2020Dublin, Dublin, IePhD researcher based in UCD Dublin Ireland. Currently my research investigates the effects of diabetes on metabolism and the molecular regulation of skeletal muscle. I have particular interest in the links between skeletal muscle to optimise function and act as a concomitant therapy in different disease states and ageing. My PhD research investigated exercise interventions on glycemic management and skeletal muscle adaptions to reverse or regress diabetic complications in individuals with Type-1 diabetes. -
Laboratory AssistantUcd Institute For Sport And Health - Human Performance Laboratory Jan 2016 - Nov 2019Dublin, Leinster, IeSport science support activities are undertaken in the BASES accredited Human Performance Laboratory (HPL). The HPL incorporates the latest technological advances in the field (e.g. iDXA scanner, isokinetic dynamometry, gas analysers). In addition to its research activities, the HPL provides a full range of testing services to athletes of all abilities, from beginner to elite level, delivered by accredited Sport and Exercise Scientists.
