Building Glasgow’s new biomass plant, this role entails managing a 30-strong workforce, scoping upcoming works and liaising with the client Viridor on job progress and safety matters. • Leading safety culture changes through use of Cognitive Behavioral Safety techniques, to successfully increase the use of harness, fall protection zones and barrier management. • Training staff in SG4:15 and improving awareness of permits, method statements and risk. • Identifying and reporting accidents and incidents, addressing emerging safety trends with targeted toolbox talks and Point of Work Risk Assessments.• Coordinating works with subcontractors and de-conflicting any overlapping construction packages to ensure a safe working environment whilst maintaining programme.• Commissioning jobs to design, monitoring scaffold erection for compliance with safe work procedures, British standards and contract quality requirements.

Dual role as a safety coach and scaffold advisor for Shell/Teqnip’s Prelude project in South Korea, a floating liquefied natural gas platform built in the Samsung Yard. • Instructed the Korean workforce through a translator, achieving British scaffolding standards. • Championed health and safety site-wide, introducing a new safety reporting system and enabling a reduction in incidents and accidents by mentoring Korean supervisors. • Key role in ensuring no snagging occurred as modules were installed from yard to ship.

Working on Lagan Tormore, a new build gas plant on the Shetland Islands. All work conformed to Offshore standards due to harsh weather conditions in this part of the world. Carrying out supervisor duties and overseeing high-risk builds, ensuring they are built to design and carried out to SG4:15 safety standards.

Creating a watertight protection deck at London Bridge Station, using aluminum frames suspended from running beams to enable the 1300 tonne grade 1 listed station roof above to be deconstructed without any impact to passengers and trains below. The job was completed accident-free and finished 4 months ahead of schedule.

Part of the Enhanced Gas Separation Project in Grangemouth, including 2 additional shutdowns, working with numerous trades and directly with the client. Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements set out by BP which included permit system, risk assessments, method statements, sim ops and plant hazards. All scaffolding erected to SG4:10 and TG20:08; tagged all jobs in the immediate work area.

Working as a Scaffolder on various rigs in the North Sea. All work carried out to Offshore standard and current guidelines.

Back to back Senior Supervisor, building a new gas plant 90 kilometers outside Elguna Egypt. Complex role dealing with foreign scaffolders with limited English. Developing a team of 20 to enhance scaffold and safety principles abroad in conformance with British Standards.

Demolishing London St Pancras Station structure and recreating the station from the foundations up. Supervising team of 30 on a demanding job with a tight programme to reopen this central London terminus on time.
