From the Heart is a campaign for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament that is enshrined in the Constitution. It is now time for the Australian people to come together through a referendum and make this fair and practical change.

Managing a team of four, my focus was on retaining and strengthening Jawun's corporate and philanthropic relationships as well as developing new partnerships. I was also responsible for Jawun's broader communication and branding strategy.

Responsibility:Designed and implemented the engagement strategy for the eight Empowered Communities (EC) regions across Australia. I managed a team of nine Engagement Coordinators based in the EC regions in support of the regional leaders during the design and implementation phase of EC. I facilitated national and regional workshops in urban, regional and remote areas that generated the reform ideas for the design report. Achievements:Led a program that engaged more than 340 organisations from urban, regional and remote Australia across a number of different sectors. Many of these organisations had never previously collaborated and in many cases were in competition for funding with each other.Worked directly with more than 50 Indigenous leaders and the Department for Prime Minister and Cabinet to produce the groundbreaking Empowered Communities Design Report that was presented to the Prime Minister in March 2015.Co-designed the governance structure for regional ‘backbone’ organisations to support the implementation of Empowered Communities. The Commonwealth government endorsed the design and provided several million dollars in funding for each backbone over a three-year period.Facilitated an Economic Development Roundtable that brought together leaders from industry, educational institutions and the local community and resulted in more than one million dollars of investment into regional development initiatives.

Responsibilities: Corporate consulting assignments as a facilitator, designer and researcher, and acting as a client consultant; managing client needs, expectations and attending thoroughly to the relationship. I also led the expansion of consulting in the social development area, with an initial focus on working with Indigenous communities and organisations in the areas of strategy andengagement.Achievements:Delivered the frontline staff engagement program at Argyle Diamond mine in Western Australia that changed the way management worked with their teams. Twelve months after delivering the program, diamond recovery improved from 93 to 97%, adding an estimated $300m in revenue to the life of the mine. Guided the work of the NSW Government’s Aboriginal advisory committee that provided recommendations to the government regarding the NSW Ombudsman's, Responding to child sexual assault in Aboriginal communities report (January 2013). Co-crafted the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation’s strategic plan, including designing and facilitating membership meetings for input. The Corporation’s strategic plan is acknowledged as an example of best practice for native title organisations.

Responsibilities: Policy, strategy and business advice and operational support to the Chairperson, Mr Noel Pearson, across his policy and program portfolio. This included leading the design and development of the Cape York Partnerships Organisational Strategy and fostering and managing relationships with key government partners. Achievements:Led the development of the Cape York Partnerships Organisational Strategy Championed the adoption of co-design as a means to foster innovation across the program portfolio

Short-term consulting assignment with the NHS South Central Strategic Health Authority (SHA) developing a business case for the Advancing Quality initiative.

Responsibilities: Supported the implementation of the NHS Commercial Strategy and Operating Model, including the development of NHS Commercial Support Units and the repositioning of the NHS Supply Chain contract.Co-ordinated and managed the NHS Commercial Network.Managed the development, review and approval of Outline Business Cases and Full Business Cases for a major government service provision change, the creation of Independent Sector Treatment Centres.

Responsibilities:Provided expert and timely advice to the Minister and senior Ministerial staff on policy issues including sustainable energy, consumer protection and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs.Analysed and prepared reports, briefing notes, submissions and statistical information and other associated correspondence.Participated in consultative forums in regard to policy matters and support policy bodies and committees.Achievements: As the only Indigenous staffer in the Minister’s office, I was uniquely placed to offer insights and experience that informed the Minister’s decision-making.
