Dean Petersen has over 32 years of construction and project management experience. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University, he became a San Diego resident in 1985.Mr. Petersen brings to Hughes Marino a strong knowledge of project cost estimating and control, scheduling, quality control, contract administration, and construction means and methods. These skills, combined with over 32 years in the local construction market, offer clients a wealth of information in evaluating their options during leasing, design and construction.Before joining Hughes Marino, Petersen served as VP of Project Management at Irving Hughes/CM for 5 years where he was responsible for the on time and on budget delivery of numerous projects ranging in size from $500,000 to $10 million, a senior project manager with Johnson & Jennings where he was responsible for special projects and high-end tenant improvements. Previously, he was a senior project manager with Johnson & Jennings where he was responsible for special projects and high-end tenant improvements, a project manager with Swinerton & Walberg and director of tenant improvements and project manger at Koll Construction. During this time, he has been responsible for the management of over 5 million square feet of construction valued in excess of $130 million. Mr. Petersen is on the Board of directors for The East County Posse, a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping the residents of East County. Mr. Petersen, his wife Jane, reside in San Carlos. They have two adult children and two grandsons.
