After 16 years in the Industry Dean was awarded a Telcordia Fellowship in 2011.As an industry leader Dean Rader presented and published several papers in the area of Fiber Optics and NGN OSS technology. He has received patents for a fiber optic connector measuring device and in OSS Support for Control Plane Technology. Dean started his career as a Fiber Optics Engineer in Professional Services where he was responsible for standards development and testing of fiber media and components. He also served as the subject matter expert for fiber optic connectors. Dean then moved to the software side of Telcordia as a Solutions Architect where he has established himself as the chief Telcordia expert in OSS support of optical network technologies. He has guided and continues to guide the evolution of OSS technology from SONET to WDM to multi-degree ROADM to OTN. Dean has the implicit trust of his customers which has enabled the Telcordia Core OSS Systems to remain closely aligned with the cutting edge technologies of the network element providers and has allowed service providers to rapidly and effectively deploy these new technologies within their networks. These Core OSS Systems manage the metro/regional network infrastructures that transport the vast majority of telecommunications traffic throughout the United States.
