I&C design for automation of oil & gas pipelines. This includes control philosophy, PLC/RTU design, programming and panel layout, engineering/design and installation, and oversight of Industrial HMI/SCADA communication networks.

Primary responsibility is assisting in the I&C design for automation of oil & gas pipelines. This includes control philosophy, PLC/RTU design, programming and panel layout, engineering/design and installation, and oversight of Industrial HMI/SCADA communication networks. Currently, I am working on numerous oil & gas pipeline projects across the United States.

(Contract E,I&C) Primarily worked on a new gas treatment plant, which is to be located outside of Dubai, U.A.E. This plant was designed to turn sour to sweet natural gas utilizing several treatments, primarily glycol/amine followed by fractionation to obtain high valued distillates. My responsibility, as part of a team and working in conjunction with the process engineers, was to suitably select over 1,500 instruments. My primary responsibility was for the proper design and selection of the DeltaV DCS/PLC system and RTU (ROC) with over 900 inputs and then working with the panel vendor for the proper layout and construction of the control panels. I also was involved with the startup and shakedown of DeltaV controlled new gas treatment facility located near Rifle, CO (Piceance Creek).Reason for leaving: contract ended and simultaneously received better offer closer to home.

Sr. Engineer (2002 to 2003) My responsibilities included but were not limited to design, programming, testing and installation of several types of RTUs for the monitoring and control of a new gas pipeline for Sempra Energy, then integrating the system into the power plant’s HMI, Sempra’s SCADA system, and the Mexican government’s oversight systems. Installation of these RTUs required travel to Mexico, and direction through an interpreter, the installation, trouble shooting and testing of the equipment. This included integration into several types of networks, both wire/wireless, using several types of equipment/software and protocols (e.g. Modbus, Modbus/IP, X.25, SONET, etc.).Reason for leaving: Contract position-project completed

Contract PositionPower plant planning for the Northeastern portion of the United States. This included, but was not limited to, the management of power plants along Qwest’s fiber backbone, using multiple databases and scheduling tools.

Design coordinate the layout/installation of new Point of Presence (POP), Amp and Regeneration sites along 360’s new fiber Canadian network with the various 360 departments (Power, Transport, etc.). This included the layout of the power, fiber, fiber management, HVAC lines/conduit and equipment. This also included traveling to Canada on a regular basis to present to senior management.Reason for leaving: Company filed for bankruptcy.

Simultaneously, I managed more than 90 central office power plant projects which were located in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wyoming. I provided capacity provisioning engineering for the Power Group. I oversaw design of additions and integration into the network using CAD/Database programs and I managed project vendors and project closeout using multiple databases and scheduling tools.

Supervised and designed hundreds of CERCLA, RCRA hazardous materials industrial remediation projects. These projects involved the engineer, design, installation, operation and training of various treatment strategies including, but not limited to, GAC, UV/Peroxide, Thermal Oxidation, Ion exchange, enhanced soil vapor extraction, pug mills, air stripper, iron funnel gate, groundwater recovery, aerobic/anaerobic diges., numerous in-situ strategies (e.g. biological, hydroxyl radical, etc.) and UST removals. Clients included government entities such as DOD, DOE, EPA, USACE and FBI. Industrial clients included but not limited to Lockheed Martin, Seagate, Coors Brewery/Coors Ceramics, Syntex (ROCHE of Colorado) and numerous oil & gas entities. Hazards included but not limited to buried unexploded ordinance, HCN, phosgene, dioxin, PCB, acids/bases, Radio Chemistry, chlorinated solvents and heavy metals.
