Starting off in the management team as a Lead Sales within our Galashiels branch I was quickly able to learn my role and progress on to Team Leader within the Musselburgh branch. Here I work closely with the management team and directly with the Area Manager to ensure our store is a healthy and safe environment for both the staff and the customer. Sole management of up to 31 staff, rota management, disciplinary action/meetings, staff training/recruitment, cash/bank management and I also help out with other stores as and when required.

Giving the opportunity of a career in a specialized yet lucrative field, I couldnt pass up the opportunity. I didn't want to leave 8 Yards where I was comfortable but at the same time I was ecstatic with the opportunity. We used vastly complicated systems to map out and design Printable Circuit Boards for both small and global companies. In the end it wasn't for me but I'm glad I have it a go and grateful for the chance to branch out into a new field.
