I spent 33 years of my professional life as a teacher and school leader. My most satisfying leadership role was the 21 years I served as Superintendent of Schools of the 10,500-student Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation in Mishawaka, Indiana where I lead a Team of 1,000+ people and managed an annual budget of 35M+ dollars. Upon my retirement from the Superintendency, St. Joseph County, Indiana, community business leaders provided me an unusual opportunity to found and provide leadership to 600+ volunteers to help a Community-Based Collaborative (Business & Education) called CONNECT to achieve its strategic goals and objectives. I have worked with every level of business leader. Since my retirement from a school leadership role, I have been privileged to work closely with teachers, school & business leaders on leadership training, strategic planning, professional development, project-based learning, assessment strategies and technology-based initiatives. Most of these learning and service opportunities have taken place through CONNECT & our education consulting company, Speicher Fields & Associates, Inc. I am pleased to have served as an Adjunct Instructor in the On-Line MED Program for Indiana Wesleyan University. In past years, I have taught graduate level courses at Ball State University, Indiana University-South Bend and Purdue University-Calumet.
