• Providing technical and administrative management support for DoD Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) projects.• Designing, building, installing, and supporting secure Information Technology systems utilizing a wide variety of technologies, such as VMware ESX, Windows servers (2003/2008), Windows workstations (XP/7), Redhat Enterprise Linux, Sun Solaris, Cisco routers/switches, Alcatel switches, VPN technologies, Host- and Network-based Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS/NIDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and other related technologies.• Evaluating the security of DoD systems and developing countermeasures & mitigation strategies for system vulnerabilities, in accordance with industry best practices, federal statutes, and military regulations.

• Serving in a dual capacity as the company’s Lead Engineer for system, network, and security engineering projects, as well as providing end-to-end lifecycle Project Management support for customers. • Designing, implementing, and managing secure DoD computers and networks using technologies such as Windows clients (NT4/2000/XP/Vista/7), Windows servers (NT4/2000/2003/2008), Microsoft Exchange (all versions), Solaris (8/9/10), Linux (Redhat, Ubuntu, and other distributions), Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, Checkpoint firewalls, VPN technologies, Host- and Network-based Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS/NIDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and many other related technologies.• Assessing the security posture of DoD systems using DoD security tools, commercial security tools, military/federal directives & guidelines, and industry best practices. • Developing technical designs, countermeasures, and mitigations for vulnerabilities and/or shortcomings in DoD computer systems & networks.• Conducting digital forensic investigations for both internal and external entities; technologies utilized include Guidance Software EnCase, AccessData Forensic Toolkit (FTK), X-Ways WinHex, Tableau hardware write-blockers, and other related technologies.• Supporting system installations and security Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities at various organizations/commands; these include Johns Hopkins University (JHU), SPAWAR, COMSUBLANT, COMSUBPAC, US AFRICOM, USSTRATCOM, NCTAMS LANT, NCTAMS PAC, NETWARCOM, numerous afloat units, and other organizations/commands.

• Managing all facets of AT&T’s infrastructure networking, including LAN/WAN engineering (using Cisco switches/routers/firewalls, Foundry switches/routers, Bay Networks routers, legacy ATM/LAN switches, and various other networking technologies), IP routing administration (using primarily BGP and OSPF), problem resolution, network documentation, and training.• Providing systems administration support on servers running HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows NT/2000/XP.• Troubleshooting the entire spectrum of network connectivity issues, from the application layer to the physical layer.• Conducting research & development work on new technologies to evaluate their performance, capabilities & limitations, and how they could be best utilized in the infrastructure network.• Managing migration projects to facilitate moves of network nodes from legacy equipment to modern equipment with minimal downtime and user impact.

• Providing 3rd level escalation support for Windows NT/2000, Unix, security, database, and LAN/WAN issues.• Managing a staff of approximately 30 network, systems, security, and database engineers.• Building and administering customer Internet-enabled solutions on a wide variety of hardware, software, and application platforms; technologies include Windows NT/2000, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, Cisco, Foundry, Checkpoint, and ISS RealSecure.• Managing and troubleshooting Local- and Wide-Area Networks using a wide variety of vendors and technologies: Foundry switching routers and load balancers, Cisco routers and switches, Ascend (Lucent) WAN switches, Brocade fiber channel switches, and various other networking devices.• Designing, implementing, and managing E-commerce solutions for numerous high-profile organizations, such as Military.com, Longs Drugs, Match.com, Mazda, Myspace.com, American Airlines, Emerson Electric, Games.com, SC Johnson, FTD.com, and many others.• Managing all facets of a domestic meshed OC-48 (ATM) Internet backbone network with Points of Presence (PoP) in 36 cities.• Managing security on hundreds of customer servers, both Unix and Windows NT/2000; this includes patch management, firewall/VPN administration, security auditing, and incident response.• Troubleshooting, down to the packet level, connectivity issues on most standard protocols used on the Internet today, including IP, SNMP, SMTP/POP3, IPSec, DNS/BIND, various UDP protocols, OSPF/BGP4, and nearly all other TCP protocols.• Providing systems integration support to application developers for a wide variety of application & database platforms, including Microsoft IIS, BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and many others.

• Giving call center representative technical support in a large, fast-paced call center environment.• Maintaining workstations, servers, and applications on a 1,200+ node network.• Installing, troubleshooting, and administering Local Area Networks (running Token Ring) and Wide Area Networks (running on a DS-3 backbone).• Installing and administering Lucent Definity G3R PBX phone systems, from punching-down lines to PBX systems administration.• Designing and implementing ACD-based call management solutions.• Troubleshooting and administering IBM AS/400 and AS/400e systems running OS/400.• Implementing and managing a nationwide Help Desk providing 1st and 2nd level support to over 16,000 internal end-users.• Administering networks running Novell Netware, Microsoft Windows NT, IBM OS/2 Warp, Lucent Definity G3R PBX, Lucent AUDIX Voicemail System, Lucent Call Management System (CMS), and IBM Mainframe systems.
