About Dean Auger
I started in IT in the 90s working primarily in the financial arena administering and deploying open system architecture throughout the United States. As the demands for storage in the open system space grew, I shifted my focus from OS related deployments to storage environments. Through the years, I have designed, implemented, and managed solutions around Vixel, Gadzooks, Inrange, Qlogic, McData, Brocade, and Cisco infrastructures using XioTech, EMC, IBM, NetApp and a host of smaller RAID/JBOD vendors to satisfy the storage related business requirements for a variety of customers. I've written several white papers, served as a guest writer for Storage Magazine, and appeared as a guest speaker at conventions. Currently, I leverage my technical experience to assist clients identify their storage requirements, and architect/implement solutions primarily focused around large heterogeneous environments where site-to-site replication is typically a consideration. I have several certifications from Cisco, Brocade, IBM, EMC and NetApp.Specialties: The following applies to storage and storage infrastructure for single site or multiple site customers: Pre-sales engineer; Solutions architect; Implementation/delivery resource; Migration resource; Performance/problem analysis (typically through resolution); post sales support (limited).
