2013 recipient of the Rockefeller Group Development Corporation Internship, an annually awarded, five-month internship position that provides experience in real estate development, acquisition, management, finance, and investment. Offered to two New York University students annually after concentrated academic, personal and professional assessment.

•Managed the tax compliance and consulting for a $6 billion open ended global real estate fund. Coordinated with a team of fifteen to twenty colleagues which included direct reports, subject area specialists and supervisors around the globe to satisfy the needs of more than ten client stakeholders.•Consulted on conversions of debt to equity, creation of preferred return, allocation and capitalization of costs, interest expense limitations and accounting methods.•Analyzed the tax consequences of investing in passive foreign investment companies, controlled foreign corporations, controlled foreign partnerships, foreign disregarded entities, domestic partnerships, domestic disregarded entities and domestic corporations.•Worked with internal software developers to develop a method and process to allocate items of partnership income and loss under a complex special allocation partnership structure involving carried interest, ring fencing of investor units and reverse IRC Section 704(c).•Learned the tax sensitivity around varying types of investors in a large real estate fund which included, Tax-exempts, Super Tax-Exempts, Foreign, US Corporations, US Partnerships, and US Individuals.•Assisted a team to transition three large global real estate funds with combined capital commitments of greater than $10 billion from a competitor. As it is difficult to win and transition an active real estate fund of this size, the firm considers the transition a huge success, thus proving real estate funds can change accounting service providers at any point in their investment cycle.•Contributed to the Emerging Market Trends real estate publication co-authored by Urban Land Institutes and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Interviewed over 12 CEOs and CFOs on real estate market issues such as supply/demand trends, Wall Street influence, liquidity, sources of capital, future of commercial mortgage backed securities, direction of capitalization rates and best sectors.
