With over 20 years of experience in education, I am passionate about advancing learner success, promoting future educators and wellness professionals, and fostering community partnerships. As Professor and Dean of the College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa, I lead a diverse and dynamic team of faculty, staff, and learners who share a common vision of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. In my current role, I oversee the largest teacher education program in Iowa, as well as the only active doctoral program at UNI dedicated to education. I also manage five academic departments and four centers of excellence that offer a range of programs and services connecting education with local families, practicing teachers across the state and national level collaborations to strengthen communities. Some of my key achievements include developing and fostering new partnerships with local school districts and organizations, securing multiple external funding streams, and enhancing the access to our quality instruction. I leverage my skills in mentorship, resource management, teacher training, and curriculum development to support our faculty and learners in achieving their academic, professional and personal life goals.
