Dean is a social entrepreneur, strategist and storyteller with a passion for connecting our global community through education and inspiring others into action. He is committed to equipping the current and next generation with opportunities, mindsets, skills and capabilities to create positive impact in a changing and complex world. Dean is deeply motivated to create systemic and sustainable impact that accelerates innovative solutions to our greatest social problems and that lead to a just and sustainable future for all. This is driven by his core principles of ‘social impact’ and ‘diversity and equity’, and complimented by his personal values of integrity, justice and vulnerability.Dean believes that creating enterprising and socially minded leaders requires access to opportunities and quality education, regardless of birthplace or socioeconomic environment. This was founded through his own experiences with systemic inequality as a first generation neurodiverse Australian from a ‘blue collar’ suburb, and reinforced when he taught in some of the worlds most disadvantaged communities across five continents. He eventually left the classroom to focus on creating large-scale social impact, and was introduced to best practice sustainable community development and worked in allyship with communities in rural Kenya, India and China. Dean learned about social entrepreneurship, circular economic models, and impact investing by seeing what it looks like in practice. These experiences further galvanised his drive and commitment to use his proximity to power to create meaningful change.Dean is excited by disruptive solutions to complex social challenges, including capital as a force for good. He is passionate about supporting young people, meaningful education opportunities, innovative environmental initiatives and First Nations-led solutions to a range of social challenges.
