I have had two hats in this role. The first hat involved developing and leading the Fixed Income trading team and indeed accompanying other stakeholders in the bank along the journey to develop Fixed Income markets in Mauritius. The second hat involved leading the Treasury Realignment Project which was aimed at working with external consultants to restructure the Treasury ecosystem in line with international best practice.As the Head of the Fixed Income trading desk, I have been responsible for spearheading the the MCB groups initiatives to develop the Mauritian government bond market as part of the Bank of Mauritius's Primary Dealer Framework. This initiative has resulted in MCB's trading desk being seen as the market leader in terms of positioning / capabilities / and reputation. My responsibilities have included building the Fixed Income trading desk (MUR & FCY) and the framework around it to cover MUR denominated government and corporate bonds and level 1 High Quality Liquid Assets. I have also been responsible for all Fixed Income positions taken and management of strategic and tactical DV01 risk.

Actively managed the foreign reserves for various commonwealth countries in Africa and the Caribbean. Exposure to G20 government bond and currency markets.

Worked within the Global Fixed Income team managing portfolios for pension funds.Prior to taking portfolio management responsibilities, I acted as a fixed income dealer, was involved in risk management, and created a performance monitoring and attribution system.
