Dean Hansen is currently a Value Stream Supervisor, Chem/Bio., wtih (SDI) the US subsidiary of Smiths Detection, a world leader in safety and security technologies. SDI manufactures specialized products for the detection and identification of contraband and chemicals, biologicals, radiological materials and explosives (CBRNE). It manages programs for a variety of customers, which include the Transportation Security Administration, US and Latin American Customs and Border Patrol Agencies, the US Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and many private and governmental agencies across the US, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. In this capacity as Dean is responsible for supervising the daily manufacturing operations for the JCAD (Joint Chemical Agent Detector) and Chem/Rad Identification departments.Dean joined Smiths Detection in May 2014 as an Manufacturing Assembler . He was promoted to his current position in October 2014. He is also a member of the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) and Green Team. Dean brings to SDI a broad background in chemical weapons monitoring.He has held various positions with Edgewood Chemical Biological Command (ECBC) working both in the field as an Environmental Monitoring Technician with SciTech Services Inc. and their Edgewood Command Centre as an Operations Specialist with Innovative Emergency Management Inc.. Additionally, Dean has held multiple positions focused on dismantling the nation’s chemical weapons stockpiles with Battelle.Dean holds a A.S. in Paralegal Studies from Harford Community College. He also earned Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification while with Bechtel International. He is also an Eagle Scout and the proud father of 2 children, Audriana 7 and Tyler 10.

The Susquehanna Workforce Network is a nonprofit group focused on working with employers and job seekers in Harford and Cecil Counties in Maryland. Our expertise is in job placement and job training services. My professional focus is to help displaced workers in their job search by providing group and individual job seeker education and counseling.
