Dean Macfarlan is the founding partner and Chief Executive Officer of Macfarlan Capital Partners. With 40 years of industry experience in the development, acquisition, repositioning and sale of investment properties exceeding the $1.5 billion mark, Dean provides the vision, strategic guidance and entrepreneurial leadership that has propelled the company’s growth.Dean has guided the company’s business transformation from a small start-up to an investment fund sponsor managed by veteran real estate investment professionals. Dean built a national reputation based on three guiding principles—providing its investor partners and clients with ACCESS to unique debt and equity estate investments, an INNOVATIVE and efficient value creation process, and a deep knowledge of capital and local markets that allow for timely REALIZATIONS for his investors.Dean is active in industry associations PERE, and IREI. He served on the board of The Real Estate Council from 1999 to 2001 and is a frequent speaker at national conferences, including the Commercial Property News, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and Financial Planning Association. He is a founding member of the University of Texas Graduate Center for Real Estate Finance and continues to mentor business students. Dean holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Texas at Austin.
