In high school, it was mandatory to learn how to first understand 2D drawings on AutoCAD before advancing to 3D modeling on SolidWorks. This enabled me to understand how to perceive both types of design as well as utilize the programs used to create and edit the drawings. My senior year, my teacher was absent due to medical leave which resulted in me teaching the class; every student received above 90% on their semester exam during my supervision period. In 2013, I placed 1st in a Statewide competition (SkillsUSA) in Technical Drafting. I went on to receive 4th place in the National competition with a score of 94% at the age of 18.During my years of employment in the field, I have learned to communicate well with engineers, supervisors, managers, and vendors in order to maximize success on production part manufacturing.I have used AutoCAD since 2009 and have approximately 4,000 hours of experience. I have also used SolidWorks since 2009 and have over 10,000 hours of experience. My previous jobs have used both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. With my experience, I can easily transition between both programs as well as help visually explain to others the description and purpose of the part being designed.
