Hi there! I am the founder of Shifting Tides Therapy, a virtual therapy practiced based in New York. I created Shifting Tides with the intent to provide high quality, evidence based trauma interventions to clients while also cultivating a warm, supportive, educational work environment for clinicians who are passionate about trauma interventions. I also provide clinical supervision and consulting services.I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma focused behavioral psychotherapy. I graduated from Sacred Heart University with my Bachelors in Social Work, and then graduated with my Masters from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service Accelerated program. I have gained extensive experience conducting Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My own experiences in life led me to become a therapist. In going through my own grief and loss I realized it was a topic that was not talked about or acknowledged in our society, even though we all experience grief and loss no matter what our background is. My goal as a clinician and practice owner is to create a space that welcomes grief without judgement and without expectations. Every grief journey is unique and deserves compassion. My specialties include addiction, grief/bereavement (including sudden/traumatic loss as well as anticipatory loss), complex childhood trauma and anxiety. I am passionate about group work and regularly run grief support groups. In the past I have also worked with those involved in the criminal justice system on probation or parole, as well as at risk youth. I am accepting new therapy and supervision clients!
