I worked at Checkers for almost 22 years. I started as a bun dropper in 1993 and worked my way up the ladder. I was a shift leader for a few months then moved up to assistant.I was an assistant for a few months then I went up to General manager.i was on the Top 100 GM cruise in 2006/2007. It was my rookie year so I'm really proud of that fact. The following year 2007/2008 I had a guy that went on it in the number one spot another fact I'm proud of. Had I of not moved with my sick husband at that time to give him what time he had left on Earth to be with his family I would probably still be at Checkers. However there isn't one near me .I joined the Wal-Mart family from the outside ranks in 2018. They were impressed by how long I was with Checkers. I loved it at Walmart.I learned alot there from the associates there.I have always through my working career have dedicated myself to honesty,hard work and good ethics. I went on to join Goodwill where I am a store manager. I have learned so much about what they do behind the lines that people don’t know about. So many great things. I really love my job because I get to really touch lives everyday . It’s not about the money when you love what you do. I have a wonderful staff that has really taught me so much about myself. I will retire from Goodwill down the road as my last job ever.
