I work during our intake clinic to sign up individuals who meet criteria for assistance with case management. I empower individuals to become self-sustaining in keeping their appointments, taking their medications as prescribed, utilizing their support systems during times of crisis, help build their social support system and help empower them to arrange transportation, if needed, to appointments.

I empower clients to become self-sustaining in arranging transportation for appointments, to take their medications, build social supports, encourage them when they are in crisis to work on coping skills and to use their supports when needed.

Worked with mentally ill inmates to ensure they received fair and impartial treatment in the justice center and courts. I trained police officers to be able to identify mental illness and handle the situation with the least amount of force as necessary. I taught two classes in police academy to identify mental illness and the best way to approach those who may be in crisis. I worked with lawyers, district attorneys, public defenders and judges during court to ensure the inmate was being housed for his crime rather than a mental health break. I worked with probation/parole/community correction officers for those that were mentally ill while on probation to ensure success rather than being violated for their probation.

Monitor people in paying their court costs, fines and fees. Signed up new probationees for probation during court.
