I am an experienced, top-notch Executive/Legal Assistant with expert knowledge of office management. I became a paralegal so I could help families and children. I was fortunate to experience that while working for the National Fatherhood Initiative. I assisted in the creation of the 24/7 Dad Program. I also acted as the liaison for a referral network for single fathers seeking legal counsel concerning their children. I travelled across the country assisting the Director of Healthcare Programming teaching social practitioners how to train their single fathers in taking care of the medical needs of their toddlers.After I left NFI, I worked for a family/criminal law practitioner assisting him in office management and his legal assistant. Tasks included discovery, managing the docket calendar and streamlining office practices using the skills I have as an office manager and paralegal.At the Special Hearings Department of the Texas Workforce Commission, my role consisted of many hats, however, the majority of my position was assisting a sight-impaired hearing officer. When I came to TWC, the processes used in assisting this officer were antiquated and currently not being fueled by today's technology. I created a technological system of communication far beyond the process being used at the time. I assisted in scheduling hearings, and customer service for the parties involved in the wage claim process of the Texas Payday Law (Section 61 of the Texas Labor Code).In my spare time, I am a live music photographer in the Live Music Capital of the World. Our musicians generate billions of dollars for the tourism industry in Austin. However, they are not paid well and most of them must work a "day job" to provide for their families. I began my photography business to assist musicians with high quality photographs that they can use to market their music and bands for free. I volunteer with HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians).
