Oversee the implementation of the Second Chance Act and BJA's reentry efforts which include program and policy development and significant collaborative work with federal partners and the Federal Interagency Reentry Council. Lead policy/program planning, development, and implementation, and overall strategic activities, with an emphasis on the use of research and data (e.g. performance measurement information) that informs BJA decision-making. Develops federal funding opportunities for the corrections field grounded in evidenced-based practices/principles that highlight program outcomes in written format and public events. Oversee, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of BJA's investments in corrections and reentry program areas, and responsible for overseeing information dissemination, the delivery of technical assistance expertise to state, tribal and local corrections agencies and nonprofit organizations, and developing and fostering public/private partnerships. Provide policy oversight for the reentry portfolio with a focus on employment, housing, and collateral consequences, and BJA's involvement in other significant corrections policy issues such as administrative segregation. Served as the Deputy Director of the Federal InterAgency Reentry Council. A council of over 20 federal agencies working to eliminate the policy barriers within government that prevent successful reentry. Manage the National Reentry Resource Center, National Collateral Consequences Database, Children of Incarcerated Parents and the National White House Business to Business Initiative "Second Chance Employers".
